The variety is a spring two-row barley with the genetic formula Vatonga x (Goldfield x Mala). It is a classic breeding material and is primarily used as a genetic resource in specialized collections.

There are no detailed modern agronomic characteristics of the plant in open publications. The variety is used in research, in particular, it is included in an international set of samples for testing resistance to the oat nematode.
