Krami is a two-row barley variety of Bulgarian breeding, intended for malting purposes. The variety served as the subject of physiological and biochemical studies aimed at examining nutrient use efficiency in plants.
This variety is capable of accumulating crude protein in the grain at the level of 12.3–13.0% under intensive nitrogen nutrition. Research results also indicate the variety's ability to accumulate increased concentrations of phosphorus in the grain, as well as potassium in the straw and grain, demonstrating high efficiency of nutrient metabolism.
