The Mezmaar variety is a winter two-row barley. Plants have a medium height and a dense, parallel-shaped ear of medium length with long awns. The straw of the variety is characterized as relatively weak.
The grain has a colored aleurone layer. According to its intended use, the variety is classified as malting barley. During cultivation, attention to disease protection is required, including Rhynchosporium.
