The spring common barley variety «МИП Сотник» was selected from the breeding line «Nutans 4120». The plant is classified as short-statured and has a semi-erect bush habit.

The ear of this variety is two-rowed, cylindrical in shape, and of medium density; the caryopsis is covered. The variety shows responsiveness to fertilization and yield stability when grown under the conditions of the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissya.
