The spring barley variety Nadek is used as a standard variety form when conducting genetic research, phytopathological trials, and experiments studying the influence of agrotechnical factors on the development of the crop.

In genetic research, the variety is classified as having the Vrn-H1/vrn-H2 genotype. Scientific work involving it also includes the study of resistance to fungal diseases, research on pathogenic and saprotrophic fungi, and the evaluation of the efficacy of seed treatment agents.
