The spring barley variety Hordeum vulgare L. Natasia was obtained as a result of crossing the genetic lines Isabella, NFC Tipple, Picnic, and Scandium. The plant is characterized by the presence of a short stem, as well as a lax, two-row ear of medium length.

The variety belongs to early-maturing plants, which is confirmed by the early emergence of ears. Natasia is mentioned in lists as barley suitable for malting purposes.
