The spring barley variety NOS Gambit is the result of crossing the varieties Laureate and LG Nabuco. The primary purpose of the variety is for feed, with potential for use in brewing also being considered.

The plant is short, with a straw height of approximately 68 cm. The variety possesses a strong stem with excellent resistance to lodging and stem breakage. In terms of maturity, it belongs to the early-maturing varieties.

The grain is characterized by a high volumetric weight of approximately 68.0 kg/hl and a low percentage of screenings. The variety demonstrates high resistance to powdery mildew and net blotch, medium resistance to scald, and moderate resistance to leaf rust.
