ActiveHordeum vulgare L. · Barley
ULRICH and JOSEF BREUN
10 August 2026
The variety belongs to winter feed barleys. During the breeding process, the variety received a genetic line with a resistance gene to leaf rust Puccinia hordei, however, later studies recorded the appearance of rust pathotypes capable of overcoming this defense mechanism.
In scientific literature, RAPIDAN is more often mentioned as genetic material or a pedigree component in the creation of new breeding lines. Based on the variety, additional breeding work was carried out in other countries, as a result of which the variety Lemsi was obtained.
