The Hordeum vulgare variety Sanktrum belongs to spring crops and is used as feed (forage). The plant is characterized by good indicators of the number of grains in the main spike.

The variety is used in breeding work as a source of valuable traits, in particular, for studying the genetics of resistance to powdery mildew. Sanktrum is used in hybrid combinations, including crosses with the Barke variety.
