ActiveHordeum vulgare L. · Barley
ULRICH and JOSEF BREUN
10 August 2026
The variety is a two-row barley, described in scientific literature as a genetic resource or historical form. The plants are characterized by the presence of smooth awns, and the average number of stem internodes is 22.9.
The primary purpose of the variety is malting. It possessed specific resistance to diseases, in particular to powdery mildew, due to the presence of the Mla9 gene; however, over time, the variety lost its relevance for mass production due to pathogens overcoming this protection.
