Variety description

10 August 2026

The spring barley variety Tankard is classified as six-row. In scientific research, it is known as an object actively used as a parental line in the creation of hybrid populations for gene mapping and studying the genetic characteristics of cereal crops.

The variety has been used in experiments to evaluate malting quality. Analyses noted a specific content of antioxidants and zinc. Based on the results of morphological tests in comparison with other varieties, Tankard barley possessed a relatively short ear length, a smaller number of grains, and a lower grain weight.
