Thimea is a mid-maturing winter barley variety of medium-long type. The plants have good lodging resistance. The variety is characterized by its suitability for organic farming and high nitrogen use efficiency, providing high test weight values.
The variety demonstrates complex resistance to a number of diseases. Excellent tolerance to snow mold and very high resistance to barley yellow mosaic virus are noted. Resistance levels to powdery mildew, net blotch, scald, ramularia leaf spot, and leaf rust are at average values.
