The Tidone variety belongs to the two-row spring barley type. It is a product of Italian selection and has been included in professional registries since 1995.

During agronomic trials, the variety demonstrated low winter hardiness when grown under harsh winter conditions. Its relatively low grain yield was also noted when specific stress factors occurred during field trials.
