Variety description

10 August 2026

Vendela plants are of the medium-height type. The variety demonstrates insufficient resistance to lodging, which is one of its agrotechnical characteristics.

Regarding pathogens, the variety has medium resistance to powdery mildew and barley rust. At the same time, reduced resistance to spot blotch and rhynchosporium is observed.

The variety is recognized as suitable for beer production; in particular, it is included in the list of varieties recommended for the production of beer with the geographical indication "Czech beer". Vendela has also been used in breeding programs as a parent form for the development of other barley varieties.
