The rootstock is an interspecific hybrid of Prunus cerasifera and Prunus davidiana. It is used primarily for growing apricots, as well as peaches, nectarines, and plums, to improve the characteristics of grafted trees.
The plant is characterized by a high degree of compatibility with apricot varieties and the absence of root suckers. Trees on this rootstock are characterized by moderate vigor, which is 10–15% lower compared to the GF677 rootstock.
It possesses resistance to nematodes and tolerance to soil-borne pathogens such as Armillaria and Phytophthora. The rootstock is adapted for cultivation on heavy and poorly drained soils.
