The hybrid is obtained by crossing a cultivated tomato with the wild species Solanum habrochaites. It is used exclusively as a rootstock to impart high vigor, resistance to soil-borne pathogens, and environmental stress factors to the scion varieties.

The plant possesses increased resistance to Verticillium wilt and nematodes. The use of this hybrid contributes to an increase in the total yield of grafted plants through the formation of greater biomass and helps them adapt to conditions of salinity and nutrient deficiency.
