The hybrid was obtained by crossing Solanum lycopersicum and the wild species Solanum habrochaites. Its primary purpose is for use as a rootstock in professional protected cultivation to improve the nutrition and general condition of grafted plants.

The use of this rootstock contributes to increased plant tolerance to soil-borne diseases and an increase in the marketable yield of grafted varieties. The use of the rootstock does not significantly affect the quality indicators of the scion fruits, such as acidity, vitamin C content, and taste characteristics.
