The Renaissance variety is the result of crossing Hydrangea macrophylla and Hydrangea scandens. It is a semi-evergreen or semi-deciduous shrub with drooping shoots and a spreading crown habit, reaching dimensions of 1 by 1 meter.
Flowering is very prolonged, lasting from mid-April to October. The lacecap-type inflorescences have a flat shape with large sterile flowers at the edges and small fertile ones in the center. Flower color varies from pink to blue depending on the pH level of the soil and irrigation water.
The plant is sensitive to low temperatures with frost resistance of approximately -10°C. Recommended for container cultivation: outdoors during the warm season, and indoors or in a greenhouse during the cold season, which allows the shrub to retain its foliage and continue flowering.
