The variety is historical and was introduced by breeder Friedrich Matthes in 1925. Detailed morphological characteristics of the plant are practically absent in modern sources due to its age.

In literature and catalogs, there is frequent confusion between the names «Schöne Dresdnerin» and «Schöne Bautznerin». It is highly probable that under the historical name, another variety is being offered in modern price lists.

The purpose of the variety is ornamental gardening, including solitary plantings, groups, and use as a container plant.
