The plant is a dense shrub 20–38 cm high and up to 40 cm wide. The leaves are narrow, oblong, dark green in color, and retain their decorative appearance throughout the year. The flowers are gathered in flat corymbs up to 6 cm in diameter and may have a pinkish tint in the center when opening.
Flowering lasts from mid-spring to the end of summer if faded inflorescences are removed in a timely manner. The variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness down to -34 °C provided there is high-quality drainage. The plant prefers sunny locations and well-drained sandy or gravelly soils; it is sensitive to moisture stagnation.
