The variety possesses a certain resistance to bacterial blight Xanthomonas arboricola pv. juglandis. Due to its protandrous flowering type, where male flowers mature earlier than female ones, the presence of pollinator trees is required in orchards for effective fruit-bearing and cross-pollination.
The fruits of this variety are well-filled with the kernel and are characterized by ease of cracking. In global nut production, Adams 10 is often used as a reference variety in scientific research and genetic collections.
