The name translates as 'Common walnut seedling' and is used in official registers to designate rootstock material. Since such trees are grown from seeds, they do not inherit all the qualities of the parent plants exactly and are characterized by variability in their traits.
Trees enter the fruiting stage late, usually in the 8th–12th year of life, and under natural conditions can reach 30 meters in height. Using these seedlings as an independent variety for commercial production is not advisable; their primary purpose is to serve as a base for grafting varietal walnuts.
