The name Kerinci refers to the Kalanchoe blossfeldiana species and is a trade designation rather than a recognized botanical cultivar. The plant is a compact succulent 20–30 cm in height with dark green fleshy leaves.

The flowers of this plant are most often pink in color. The flowering period occurs in the winter-spring months. The plant is demanding regarding watering and lighting conditions and is sensitive to root rot when the substrate is waterlogged.
