The variety belongs to the Kalanchoe blossfeldiana group and their hybrids. In official test guidelines (CPVO), Rarakoe is used as a reference variety when evaluating morphological traits, such as the intensity of the green color of the upper side of the leaves.

In scientific literature, the variety is mentioned in studies on the influence of light and temperature on growth and flowering. Specifically, physiological reactions of the plant were described, including yellowing of the leaves under certain parameters of photosynthetically active radiation intensity.
