A perennial evergreen or semi-evergreen plant forms dense, torch-shaped inflorescences 20–25 cm long, containing from 70 to 100 flowers. The leaf rosette consists of dark green narrow strap-shaped leaves. The height of the flower stalks reaches 100–102 cm, and the leaf rosette is about 70 cm.
Flowering lasts from late spring to early autumn, with an individual spike retaining its ornamental quality for about 18 days. The plant prefers well-drained soils and full sun. The variety is adapted to USDA hardiness zones 5–9, is drought tolerant, and possesses the ability to self-clean spent inflorescences.
