The plant forms dense clumps 40–50 cm in height. Leaves are narrow, sword-shaped, dark green in color, sometimes with a bluish tint; in warm regions, they maintain decorative appeal in winter. Tubular flowers are gathered in dense cylindrical spike-like inflorescences on strong peduncles that do not require staking.

The variety possesses drought tolerance and winter hardiness in USDA zones 5–9. In regions with harsh winters, covering the root collar with mulch is required. Peduncles are suitable for cutting. It is used in borders, group plantings, and container gardening, attracting birds, bees, and butterflies.
