The variety is classified as a spring Romaine-type lettuce intended for winter transplanting. Under summer growing conditions, a tendency towards premature bolting is noted, which is why it is recommended for use in the autumn-spring cycle.

The plant forms marketable, dense heads of an elongated shape with upright leaves. In scientific literature, the variety is often used as a standard Romaine-type specimen for regional comparative trials.
