The variety is a Batavia-type leaf lettuce with an open rosette that does not form a dense head. The light-green leaves are characterized by their density, firmness, and semi-curly shape.
The plant possesses resistance to bolting and tip burn, and is characterized by a wide harvest window. The variety is intended for fresh market sales and industrial processing.
Bateira possesses high resistance to downy mildew (races 29–41EU) and the aphid species Nasonovia ribisnigri (race 0). The crop is recommended for cultivation in open field.
