The Cavendish variety type belongs to the category of red oakleaf lettuces grown for baby leaves. The plant has a compact or medium upright form, and its leaves are characterized by a dark ruby color, a serrated edge, and a glossy surface.
The produce has good leaf thickness, a dense texture, and a long shelf life after harvest. The variety is suitable for year-round cultivation in open fields and tunnel covers.
The variety has high resistance (HR) to downy mildew (races Bl:29–41EU), lettuce aphid (Nr:0), and Tomato bushy stunt virus (TBSV). Intermediate resistance (IR) is noted to Lettuce mosaic virus (LMV:1).
