The plant belongs to the Romaine (Cos) type and has a light green color. The leaves of the variety are broad, smooth, and thick; the base is compact and closed. The variety is characterized by slow bolting, which extends the potential harvest period.
The variety possesses high resistance to downy mildew races Bl:30–32, 37, 38EU, Fusarium wilt Fol:4, and currant-lettuce aphid Nr:0. It also has intermediate resistance to Lettuce mosaic virus (LMV:1) and high resistance to tip burn.
Cervantes RZ is intended for open field cultivation from spring to autumn. It is especially recommended for regions with a Mediterranean climate due to its ability to tolerate hot summer conditions.
