The Digitale variety belongs to the red oak leaf lettuce type. The plant forms dense dark red shiny leaves and a thin stem. The variety is characterized by an intermediate development cycle and good keeping quality.
The plant possesses high resistance to downy mildew (races Bl:29–41EU), currant-lettuce aphid (Nr:0), and tomato bushy stunt virus. Intermediate resistance is noted to lettuce mosaic virus (LMV:1). The variety is suitable for growing in greenhouses and open field, and is used primarily in salad mixes.
