Duplex RZ belongs to the Crispy Red lettuce type with deeply cut curly leaves that have a sweet taste and firm texture. The variety is distinguished by high resistance to pinking of cut surfaces and a long shelf life after harvest.
The plant is intended for the fresh market and use in salad mixes, suitable for mechanical harvesting. The variety possesses resistance to downy mildew races Bl:1-28 and the aphid species Nasonovia ribisnigri race Nr:0, and is also characterized by slow bolting.
