The Kristal ljetna žuta variety, also known as Zagrebačka kristal ljetna, belongs to the crisphead type. The plant forms dense, light green-yellow heads with an average weight of 0.280–0.300 kg. The heads have brittle, slightly wrinkled leaves with prominent veins and a wavy margin, reaching a height of 19.2 cm and a diameter of approximately 22.3 by 23.5 cm.
The variety is demanding of soil moisture and prefers fertile, structured soils. Its main economic characteristic is its adaptation to summer conditions due to its ability to resist premature flower stalk formation.
