The variety bred by Vanguard Seed is an iceberg type head lettuce with light green leaves and a dense head of medium or large size. The variety is intended for cultivation in the spring and autumn periods in the desert regions of the southwestern USA, as well as in summer in California. The plant possesses resistance to tipburn, the fungal disease Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lactucae, and moderate resistance to Sclerotinia sclerotiorum.
The variety from Sakata Vegetables Europe S.A.S. is mid-early, with a maturity period of 35–45 days. The plant has a height of 16–18 cm, a diameter of 18–20 cm and forms a very dense round head with a mass of about 450 g. The leaves are green, succulent, crispy, with serrated edges. The variety is distinguished by high resistance to bolting, downy mildew (Bl:1-22, 24-26, 28, 31) and lettuce mosaic virus (LMV:1).
