The Batavia-type lettuce forms large heads. The leaves are light green in color, with a characteristic red tint along the edge. The variety is intended for year-round cultivation and can be used as a regional specialty variety.
The plant possesses high resistance (HR) to downy mildew Bremia lactucae (races 16–28EU) and lettuce aphid Nasonovia ribisnigri (biotype 0). Intermediate resistance (IR) to lettuce mosaic virus (LMV:1) is also noted.
