The plant is low, reaching 15–20 cm in height. The leaves are dark green, firm, oval-shaped, slightly spoon-shaped, with a prominent white central vein. The head is located very low, almost at the ground level.
The variety matures quickly, with the period from sowing to harvest ranging from 45 to 70 days. The crop is characterized by good drought tolerance, which allows for cultivation during the summer period. The leaves are characterized by a crunchy and fleshy texture; a slight bitterness may be perceived when consumed.
