The Poneloya variety belongs to the oak leaf lettuce (Eichblattsalat) category with dark red leaf coloration. The plant forms a stable rosette with pronounced leaf margin serration and possesses a long shelf life.
This variety is widely used in the production of baby-leaf mixes. The crop is characterized by resistance to a broad spectrum of downy mildew races (Bremia lactucae, strains Bl:16-36EU), lettuce aphid (Nasonovia ribisnigri, race Nr:0), and has intermediate resistance to lettuce mosaic virus (LMV:1).
