The variety belongs to the crisphead lettuce type. Compared to the Salinas variety, which is used as a reference standard, Salverde has a slightly larger head size, denser wrapper leaves, and more pronounced leaf margin serration.
The plant is resistant to downy mildew. In agronomic materials, the variety is classified as similar to the Salinas variety.
