The variety is mid-early, the growing period is from 60 to 95 days depending on the cultivation season. The plant is vigorous, forming large, dense round heads weighing up to 1.5 kg with a flat base and reduced ribbing. Leaves are dark green, strongly blistered, with good internal layering.
Vernalia is intended for the fresh market and processing. The variety demonstrates high resistance to downy mildew (races 16–33 EU), lettuce leaf aphid (race 0), and bolting. It also possesses tolerance to lettuce mosaic virus and tolerates low temperatures well when grown in spring and autumn.
