Variety description

The variety is a dwarf shrub reaching a height of 45–70 cm. The foliage is dark green, glossy, with the possibility of acquiring purple hues in the autumn period. The plant has a dense and compact habit that does not require protection against lodging.

The flowers are bright red with ruffled petals and are gathered in large paniculate inflorescences. Flowering begins in June and lasts up to three months, sometimes continuing until the first frosts.

The variety is considered one of the most winter-hardy in the genus. The root system is capable of withstanding temperature drops down to -34°C, while in severe climates the above-ground part may die back for the winter and regenerate in the spring. The plant is suitable for cultivation in containers and for creating landscape accents.
