Variety description

The 'Violet D'Été' variety (trade name 'Indyvio') is a shrub or small tree ranging from 1.2 to 3.5 meters in height. The plant has strong upright stems and decorative smooth bark that peels in flakes, revealing light patches of various shades.
Flowering begins in early or mid-summer. The flowers are saturated purple in color with yellow stamens. The dark green matte leaves have a reddish tint in the spring, and change color to yellow-orange and red tones in the autumn.
The plant is resistant to powdery mildew and relatively frost-hardy, withstanding temperature drops down to -15°C for mature specimens. Suitable for cultivation in containers, solitary plantings, or as part of mixed hedges.
