The CAPSICLAIR variety is used as a reference in test guidelines for plants of the genus Lavandula. In the UPOV standardization system, it serves as a sample for defining morphological characteristics when conducting examinations for distinctness, uniformity, and stability.

The flower stem of the variety is characterized by a very light intensity of green color. The plant is also used as a reference for assessing the intensity of green color of the foliage. Data on economic characteristics, including indicators of productivity or chemical composition of oil, are not available.
