The plant forms dense compact clumps 70–85 cm in height. The foliage is characterized as large, thick, dark green with serrated edges. Mustard-yellow inflorescences are located on sturdy chocolate-brown peduncles directly above the foliage, without exposing the stems.
The variety blooms in mid-summer, in July and August. It prefers partial shade and fertile, constantly moist soils, and is sensitive to drying out. It possesses improved heat tolerance compared to the parent variety and resistance to deer grazing.
Used in landscape design for decorating shade gardens, borders, mass plantings, plantings near water bodies, and container gardening.
