The El Capitan lily variety belongs to the group of Oriental-Trumpet hybrids (OT-hybrids). The plant's flowers are large, fragrant, and have a pleasant sweet scent. The primary petal color is purple (RHS code 60C), complemented by a white border (NN155C).

The height of the flower stalk is from 100 to 150 cm. The number of buds on the stem varies from 1–2 to 5–7, depending on the size of the bulb. The growing season lasts 110–120 days, and flowering occurs between June and September.

The plant exhibits vigorous growth; the use of supports is recommended for tall flower stalks. The variety is versatile: it is used for planting in open ground in flower beds and borders, for cultivation in containers, and is also suitable for cutting into bouquets.
