Variety description

The Gerrit Zalm variety belongs to the LA-hybrid group. Large flowers with a diameter of up to 20–21.5 cm are upward-facing and have a light fragrance. When opening, they have a lemon-greenish shade, which gradually lightens to white as flowering progresses. The petals have a waxy texture.
The plant reaches a height of 90–110 cm. The stem is erect, sturdy, with lanceolate dark green leaves. The variety is winter hardy, withstands frosts down to -29...-34°C (USDA zones 4–5), and is resistant to lodging.
The period from planting to flowering is 12–13 weeks; flowering usually occurs from June to August. The variety is versatile in its use, suitable both for flower bed landscaping and for industrial cut flower production.
