The lily ‘Kushi Maya’ is an interspecific hybrid created by crossing Lilium nepalense with an Oriental hybrid using embryo rescue technology. The plant possesses strong stems and high growth vigor, reaching a height of 80 to 150 cm, in individual cases up to 200 cm.
The flowers, 20–25 cm in diameter, have a nodding shape and a cream-green or pale yellow color with a dark burgundy center. The variety is characterized by a strong sweet fragrance and is late-flowering, with blooming occurring in August–September. Up to 15–20 buds form on the flower stalk.
The plant is frost-hardy, withstanding temperature drops down to -35°C (USDA zone 4). It prefers well-drained soils with an acidic reaction. It is used in ornamental gardening for group plantings and mixed borders, and is also suitable for cutting.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
