The variety belongs to the Asiatic hybrid group and is intended for open field, container cultivation, and cut flowers. Plant height varies from 40 to 60 cm depending on growing conditions. Stems are sturdy, thickened, and densely covered with lanceolate green foliage.

Flowers with a diameter of about 15 cm have a bright raspberry-coral coloration with an orange center and dark speckles, and possess a mild fragrance. The variety is early-blooming; the flowering period occurs in June-July, and forcing in containers takes 60-65 days.

The plant possesses winter hardiness (zone 3-4) and resistance to lodging. It requires well-drained, rich soils and placement in sun or partial shade. It is sensitive to stagnant moisture and strong winds. The name Matrix is also used to designate a series of varieties with different colorations.
