The Roselily Maxima variety is an oriental hybrid with large double flowers, 15–20 cm in diameter, of a pure white color. The plant is characterized by the absence of pollen, a height of 60–90 cm, a delicate fragrance, and winter hardiness (zone 5a). The variety is used for landscaping, container cultivation, and cut flowers.
The Maxima variety bred by Mak-Leek is an oriental hybrid. Its petals are pink, lightening toward the edges, with a whitish throat, small red speckles, and yellow streaks above the nectaries; the anthers are reddish-brown.
The name Maxima is also applied to species not belonging to the genus Lilium, such as Fritillaria imperialis 'Maxima Lutea' and the water lily Nymphaea 'Tuberosa Maxima', which causes confusion in plant identification.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
