The variety was obtained by directional crossing of lines SL-988 and the French variety Viking. The plants have medium height, blue flowers, and brown seeds. The variety is characterized by a mid-early maturity group.
The plant possesses medium resistance to lodging and moderate resistance to a complex of root and stem base diseases. The variety is highly productive: stem yield is 14% higher than the standard, and seed yield is 12% higher. Total fiber content is estimated as medium-high, and long fiber content as medium-high to high.
