The variety was obtained by crossing the McGregor and Norlin varieties. Plants are characterized by moderate basal branching; flowers are of medium size with blue petals. Seeds are brown, of medium size, and distinguished by an increased weight compared to the Flanders standard.

The variety possesses resistance to lodging, shattering, and boll loss, as well as to Fusarium wilt. The variety's production is characterized by a high oil content and an easily digestible seed coat.
